FAQ's - TRAIL RIDES

Scheduling requests please email play@middleburgpolo.com

Weather permitting, we typically can take rides out Tues-Sun. Let us know your previous experience and riding level so we can match you with the best horse and best group!

Where We Ride and Play:  See above for addresses in Bluemont,  Middleburg, The Plains and Upperville

Arrival:  Arrive a few minutes early to sign paperwork, get dressed, adjust your stirrups and meet your pony

Attire:  Dress comfortably and for the weather. We do require that you wear a helmet and long pants as well as a shoe or boot with a small heel to ride. If you do not have a helmet, (bike helmets can be used) we have one you may borrow. Gloves are recommended. As needed, you may also want to bring sunglasses, sunscreen, water and a small camera

About the Ride:  Trail rides typically last about one hour and we may ride through fields, streams and woods, along dirt roads and through beautiful farms. Please stay with the group and follow all instructions. Also, please ask any questions you may have along the way and above all, enjoy the wonderful Virginia countryside!

The Horses:  Most of our horses are playing polo ponies, so they are sturdy and quiet. While the polo saddles are closer to English tack, the horses all neck rein in the Western style

Weight Limit: 225 pounds.

Age Limit: We can accommodate adults and also children as young as 6.
